Getting into shape in the pool

One thing I’ve learnt over the years, and through the desperate attempts to pick up women in my youth, is that being in shape is a crucial element in meeting women. Not rocket science, right?!

I know, it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out – I mean you only need to listen to a few women talking about the ‘diet coke guy’ to know that a good body helps. But as your average Joe, meaning a lazy beer drinking Joe who likes pizza on a regular basis, staying in shape is something that takes effort.

Over the past few years I’ve been an on and off gym attendee. I’d go for 6 months, stop for a few weeks and lose a bit of tone, before I’d have to pick up the pieces all over again. I wasn’t committed in the way some guys are – but I did enough. I gave my body definition and that gave me more confidence with the ladies. And we all know what confidence brings …!

But since moving to London, and with a girlfriend before that, it’s quite accurate to say that my body isn’t what it used to be. I’ve been clinging onto muscle definition with my finger tips but I’m fighting a losing battle.

So tonight I hit the swimming pool. Swimming is a great way to work all muscle groups, get a good workout and build muscle definition.

I’ve decided to get in shape for a couple of reasons. Confidence, health and giving the ladies what they want are all up there. But I also enjoy it. I enjoy feeling like I’ve had a good workout. I enjoy swimming laps for an hour and I love getting home so completely tired that the couch is the only thing you can contemplate.

Oh, and I love mixing with women who take care of themselves. It’s a nice little bonus.

Swimming in the lanes tonight, I couldn’t but help look around and check out what the swimming pool has to offer in the way of women. Unfortunately there were more men there this evening but the women that were there were in great shape and looked very attractive in body hugging swimsuits.

I was excited. I could feel my taste for the local sports centre coming back to me. I might just have to make this swimming thing a regular feature of my week.

  1. I think a great body is important but if a woman chooses looks over a good man then thats a woman who does not deserve the good woman whom your searching for. A good woman will want you no matter how you look.

  2. Fair point Phatbeatz. Being attracted to your partner is important but I agree – it shouldn’t just be about the body.

  3. You sound like me but in London. I am in New York and write about the same things you do and about the same desire to look good and get laid by many women, giving them what they want. It’s not only about the body it just helps and especially if you’re just looking for one and done girls.

Please check my blog out, I need to take more time like you and write longer passages but most people like brief stories. I will start to write with more detail but I hope you enjoy my blog and use it as inspiration as yours has given me.

  6. I think a gorgeous body certainly helps, but from a personal perspective, I doubt many woman prefer body over personality… Looks grow old along with us, but persona and character live on for ever… Intersting post, thank you for sharing.
